While the show barn was enjoying a somewhat relaxing week after the Royal, our academy team finished up the show season for 2022, and had a blast doing it. We competed at the UPHA Turkey Trot show, and really enjoyed the facility that kept us toasty warm while the weather outside was far from ideal.

Judge Mary Lou Mann Carrick came all the way from South Carolina to preside over many academy classes packed with talented riders.

Team Knollwood was there with 10 riders of a diverse level of experience. Cece and Baxter dominated the walk, trot and canter classes on Friday night.

On Saturday, Bella and Kelsey made their show ring debuts, and rode like riders with far more experience. Adalyn and Addison competed in her second show, and rode far above their experience. In fact, Adalyn won several classes, and Addison won the green championship!

The horses were amazing. We took the all star line up of Baxter, Beau, Eddie, Klem, Leon and Thomas to assist our less experienced riders, and they did a bang up job. We think Baxter was smiling the whole time, and Klem was making eyes at all the ladies in center ring.

Congratulations to our riders, their families who cheered everyone on, and to the best lesson horses in the world.

Coming Up?

We’re not holding lessons on Thursday, November 24. Your instructor has probably already arranged a makeup for that day. If not, they’ll be in touch shortly.

Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Our adopt a family service project is drawing to a close. If you haven’t already signed up to donate, please check out the wish lists in the school barn lounge.

All donations should be at the barn by Friday, and the Knockouts are gathering on Saturday at 6 PM to wrap the gifts.

All Knockouts are invited to this special holiday edition of Parents’ Night Out. Participants will enjoy snacks, games, wrapping lessons, and a whole lot of fun with the Knockout officers and board members.

The cost is only $25, and you can sign up and pay in the school barn lounge.

The Sale of the Year is Back!

From November 25 thru December 31, you can purchase Knollwood gift certificates and receive 10% off. Current enrolled riders will have purchases added to their accounts.

You can shop on our website, www.knollwoodfarmltd.com and use promo code Holiday2023 to receive your discount.

The BIG Election of 2022!

The election for Knollwood’s school horse of the year starts on December 1, and runs through the 31st. When you renew your dues, or join the Knockouts for the first time, you’ll receive a ballot for this very important election. The winner will be announced at the banquet!

The Holiday Party Returns!

The Knockout Holiday Party and officer election is coming up fast. All Knockouts and their families are invited to join the festivities on Saturday, December 10 at 6:00 PM. A pizza dinner is provided along with lots of fun. Please sign up in the school barn lounge with the total number of family members joining us so we’re sure to have enough food for the crowd.

Not yet a Knockout member? Your instructor or office admin can help! We’d love to have you join.

Show Season 2023 is Coming!

We’re holding 2023 enrollment meetings for all of our riders who show away from home. Your instructor will be in touch to schedule, if they haven’t already.

Interested in academy showing? Please talk to Ann and she can set up an informational meeting.

Here Come the Holidays!

We’re not holding lessons on December 24, 25, 31, or on January 1.

Shopping for Next Season?

Midwest Saddleseat Consignment will be in Oconomowoc on January 6. Stay tuned to learn about Knollwood’s private shopping time.

Academy Demos and Meeting

We’re hosting our follow-up academy meeting on Saturday, February 11 at 6:00 PM. If you’re interested in academy showing for 2023, please join us in the arena for an evening of demos, questions, and information sharing.

Riders are welcome to attend with their parents!

The Knockout Banquet is Back!

Invitations will go out to all Knockouts after the holidays for our awards banquet on February 18. We’ll be enjoying a new venue this year while Bristlecone is being remodeled, and we’re sure their sister club the Legends at Merrill Hills will be perfect.

Not yet a member? Please talk to your instructor or office admin to join the club.

In closing, we consider ourselves fortunate to work with such wonderful students, families, and horses. Team Knollwood is a diverse group of horse loving people who come together to enjoy the beautiful horses in our lives, and to support each other in our adventures.

We are grateful for each and every member, whether they be human, equine, canine, or feline. We’re all in this together.

Happy Thanksgiving to one and all.
