There’s so much going on at Knollwood this fall that we want to lay it all out so no one misses a beat.

.

Let’s go back for a minute…

The show barn had a successful Wisconsin Futurity Horse Show in Madison.  School is in session during the show, so it’s a great show for our adult exhibitors to have a grown-up show.

They had a wonderful time at the show, catching up with friends, and enjoying their horses.

Everyone’s back at the home office for a bit.

We know just how full everyone’s schedule is, so here are almost all of the Knollwood events through November.

We hope you can join us!

The next academy show, the UPHA Chapter 10 event which was supposed to take place this weekend has been cancelled. Luckily, most of our riders for UPHA are able to attend our final academy show of the season, the IASPHA show in Woodstock on October 24-25.

We’ll be bringing 24 riders, and we can hardly wait.

Our annual event celebrating our summer riding school helpers is coming up on Saturday, October 10. Helpers are invited to join us from 5:30 -7:30 for games on horseback, pizza, and a caramel apple bar.

Please be sure to sign up in the school barn lounge.

The Mane Event Horse show in Springfield, Illinois is coming up fast October 14-17. Many of our show horses are making the trip to show against great horses and riders in the most beautiful horse show arena in the country.

This show features The Good Hands national equitation final which attracts riders from all across the country.

This final is the first leg in the Triple Crown of Equitation. The Good Hands is the oldest final in existence, having started in 1929. Team Knollwood is scheduled to have 4 riders participating in the seventeen rider field.

While the show horses are at Mane Event, the home team will be hosting our final in-barn of the season.

Our fall show runs from October 16-18, and features riders of all ages and levels.

The Friday night performance starts inside at 5:00, and features patterns and the last qualifying classes for the Knollwood Challenge finals on Saturday.

On Saturday, the show will kick off at 10:00 AM in the big outdoor ring. Our walk trot and canter riders will be in the spotlight for most of the performance.

Following the walk trot and canter classes,  our walk and trot riders aged 11 and older will compete before the finals of the Knollwood Challenge finish the day.

Our leadline riders start the walk and trot performance at 10:00 AM on Sunday in the little outdoor arena.

Sunday showcases our 10 and under walk and trot riders as well as our maiden riders showing for the very first time.

This performance is an absolute joy to watch as the best lesson horses in the world teach our newer riders the joy of horse showing.

We’re looking for help to make show weekend a grand celebration for all the Knollwood families.

Please consider sharing your time by taking a concession stand shift, or donating to a gift basket, or helping with setup or tear down.

Here’s the link to join the fun.

The lesson horses will enjoy the day after the show by napping to their hearts’ content.

All Monday lessons are credited to your account.

Our academy team is heading to their last show of the season October 24-25. We’re heading to Beyond Stable Farm in Woodstock, Illinois for the IASPHA Fall show.

Our 24 riders will be competing against other academy programs over two days in the cozy indoor arena. We’re fortunate that our area has many great riding programs, and the competition will be fierce.

Please join us as we close out the 2026 season. We’d love to have lots of fans!

Halloween on Horseback is back.

Join us on Saturday, October 31 at 6:00 PM for your chance to make a costume for a lesson horse and enjoy a night of fun.

For only $50, you can dress your horse and compete in the contest for best costume.

We also play some simple games on horseback after the competition.

Participants must be able to walk and trot independently, and must be approved by their instructor.  We’d love our younger riders to attend and enjoy the fun from the ground. Please wear your costume!

Our academy information sessions start on Saturday, November 7 at 6:00 PM. This first meeting is for parents only, as we’ll talk about commitment and pricing of academy showing in addition to talking about why we love the academy world so much.

Our first ever parent-rider mini camp is coming up on November 8 from noon until 3:00. For only $99, you can learn all about horses, including grooming, tacking, and safety. We’ll finish the event with a riding lesson at 2:30.

The session currently has 3 spots left, so please act quickly.

Our parent and rider Welcome to Knollwood session is returning in November, too. Join us for 8 Mondays at 7:30, starting on November 9.

With your Knollwood Kid as your helper, you’ll learn basic riding skills, and have a ton of fun.

This opportunity is priced at $375, and is also half sold out already.

Happy Thanksgiving on November 26.

We’re not holding lessons on Thanksgiving, and your instructor will be in tough to schedule a makeup.

We’re adopting a family for the holidays, and we’ll be wrapping their gifts on Saturday, November 28 at a Parent’s Night Out.

Knockouts will spend time wrapping gifts, enjoying a pizza dinner, and having a ball playing in the arena.

Knockout Holiday Party and Election

The Knockouts are hosting their holiday party on Saturday, December 5 at 6:00. The celebration includes a scavenger hunt all over the farm, a pizza dinner, and an optional gift exchange.

More importantly, the Knockouts will hold elections to elect officers and board members for 2027. The candidates will give speeches before the ballots are collected.

If you’re interested in running for office, or for becoming a board member, please talk to Knockout co-presidents Kali or Kylie.

See you soon at the barn or at the in-gate!
