With the Knollwood Kids back in school, the farm is a little more quiet during the day, but we love when they all arrive after school. The daily rhythm is a little different, but we still have plenty of things happening around here.

The show team is in Springfield, Illinois for the Monarch Series National Championship Show.  The ‘kingdom’ of Monarch welcomes everyone to the party and offers hospitality that’s not to be believed. The show has quickly become a favorite of all.

Four Knollwood kids are participating in the first two pleasure equitation national finals of the season.

The show is host to the Pleasure Equitation Olympics, and the UPHA Pleasure Challenge Cup Final.

Molly and Sophie are competing in the senior division of both finals, while Charlotte and Hailey will represent Knollwood in the junior age group.

In addition to the equitation riders, Jane will be showing the always charismatic Eli, while fellow ‘grown up’ Kim is showing her beautiful Jaydee in the Monarch single bit division.

We also have four of our top academy riders competing against the best of the best. Aubrey and Sophia are showing in the senior age group, and a battle of sisters as both Dilly and Rags compete in the 13 and under division.

Our entries are complete, and the Knollwood Fall show is looking like a grand show to end our in-barn season.

Our show barn team members will be away from home for the Mane Event Horse show, so we’re looking for lots of help to make the show fabulous for everyone.

The show again has two judges.

Bridget Ward will preside over the pattern classes on Friday night while Knollwood’s first ever triple crown winner, Sarah Thordsen Agrawal will judge the Saturday and Sunday performances.

We can hardly wait!

Knollwood parents, this is for you!

We’ve added a mini camp on Sunday, November 8 just for you and your Knollwood Kid.

Parents will learn how to be safe around horses, how to groom and tack, and then enjoy a lesson inside at 2:30 PM.

The cost is a mere $99, and you can sign up with your instructor or admin.

The class is limited to six riders, so please act fast.

If a mini camp isn’t enough, we’re running a parent and Knollwood Kid class Mondays at 7:30 PM from November 9 through December 28.

The rider in your household will act as your helper for the session.

The event is priced at $375, just like a traditional Welcome to Knollwood session.

Again, the class is limited to six participants, so please sign up soon with your admin or instructor.

We Love Academy Showing

In case you haven’t heard us talk about it before, we really do love academy showing.

The process builds confidence, helps riders set and achieve goals, and creates bonds with horses and friends like nothing else.

We have two shows remaining in this season, and are already looking forward to our 2027 season.

If you’d like to learn more about showing away from home, please join us on Saturday, November 7 at 6:00 PM. This will be a parent only informational meeting, as we’ll talk about time and financial commitments.

We’ll have a follow up meeting on Saturday, November 21 for parents and riders. This is an evening of demos with current academy riders and their parents. It’s a fun get together full of questions and answers.

We’ll have sign up sheets in mid October. Please talk to your instructor or admin with questions. We’d love to tell you all about it.

UPHA Chapter 10 Fall Show
