Summer Riding School
Knollwood Farm’s summer riding school is a unique opportunity for children and young adults ages 7-17 to learn all about horses and have fun doing it during sessions from June through August. Each Summer Riding School session closes with a mini horse show and reception with treats..
At Knollwood’s Summer Riding School you will learn:
How to conduct yourself safely around horses.
The English Saddle Seat riding discipline, designed for beginners.
Proper horse care, including grooming, tacking up, feeding, etc.
Different breeds, types and colors of horses.
Types of horse equipment and how to care for it.
Horse anatomy and psychology.
Sportsmanship and Showmanship.
And much more!

We pride ourselves on teaching safe horsemanship, and proper attire is part of our routine. Beginner riders should wear long pants, preferably jeans, of a soft material, A sturdy, hard soled shoe is also needed. We require riding helmets, and they are provided.
NO RIDER WILL BE ALLOWED TO RIDE IN SHORTS, CAPRIS OR SANDALS.
All camp fees must be paid in advance and are non-refundable for missed days or sessions.
Tiny Tot Camp!
For our younger riders between the ages of 4 and 6, we offer a shorter version of our summer riding school. For only $425, our tiny tot riders will enjoy horse time from 9 until noon for a three day session where they’ll enjoy riding as well as learning to care for their horses. They’ll learn all about horses with games and hands on activities, have a horsey craft session. snack time daily, and even put on a demonstration the last day to show their parents how much they’ve learned!
These session are limited to 7 riders each, and campers will have their own advanced rider acting as their ‘personal assistant’ for all three days. We require that all Tiny Tot campers are potty trained and out of diapers. Our tiny tot sessions fill in fast, so please call for availability.
