What a Great Season!

The UPHA Chapter 10 show in Roscoe last weekend marked the end of a very successful academy show season for the Knollwood riders.  We attended 13 shows away from home this year, and what a great time we had!

From March to October, we won numerous ribbons and championships.  More importantly, we had the opportunity to watch horses and riders progress and gain confidence in their skills.

Here’s Hugo, our 4 year old, at his first show in Roscoe in April.  Actually, it was his first time on the rig, and quite possibly his first time off the farm where he was born.

By the end of the season, he was a seasoned performer bravely completing patterns with much more experienced horses.

Here he is hanging out in the warm up ring in October and goofing around with the riders and helpers!

Our riders gained confidence through the season as well, with our walk trot crew developing into a powerhouse making polished rides in big classes.

Pattern classes are a strong point for the Knollwood riders, and they continued to dominate during the 2011 season.

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank our supportive parents and the wonderful helpers who keep the shows running so smoothly.  We couldn’t do this without you!

Finally, here are a few pictures that sum up the fun we had this past season.  We look forward to sharing more memories next year!

Lizzy and Merlin turned in some great rides at Summerfun last July.  Here they are in the line up of the championship class where they ended up reserve champs.

Amos, AKA Happy Feet completed his first year of academy showing with us and became quite a star!  Here he  is with Alex at Madison Invitational in August.

In addition to his academy duties, he was quite successful as a Classic Country Pleasure horse with Jodi in the B division.

We had a lot of fun out of the ring, too!

Who can forget our game of outlining  Skeet and Dozer wherever they’re  sleeping in the aisle?

Here’s Ainsley using saddles as a resting place in the warm up ring to prepare for her next ride!

Here’s Abbie (AKA Bubbles)  preparing for something, but we’re not sure what!

We’re looking forward to creating more wonderful memories next year!

Thanks again to everyone who made the 2010-2011 season such a great success!
