Sharing My Time and Talent!

pssst…Skeet here again!

Do you remember the ‘Time and Talent Auction’ held by the Knollwood Knockouts at the June show? Well, Mother said it was about time that I contributed talent – other than my comedy routines - to the club, so I asked if I could take someone hunting!   She agreed to drive to  a game farm so I could use my hunting and human training talents to help the Knockouts.  It worked out well for me, because I can never get enough hunting, and I love training humans!

Well, Abby’s mom Kim, beat out all the other bidders at the  Saturday auction and agreed to be my latest trainee.  She had to have some knee surgery (that I had nothing to do with) before the hunt, and she wanted to take some shooting classes (good for me!)  before she set out to hunt.  So we set the date for December 16!

Kim, Jeff, (Savannah’s Dad) Mother and I set out for Peterman’s Game Farm in Juneau on a sunny Friday afternoon.  In addition to being a great place to hunt pheasants, it’s also a great place to find barn cats.  Dean, Janet, and Hunter were all born here!

Kim and Jeff WATCHING THE DOG!

After some brief instructions from Mother, which mostly consisted of ‘WATCH THE DOG,’   I went into the field to find some pheasants for my guests.

Rookie Kim did a great job of following instructions and watched me and did what I told her to do!  She’s one of those trainable humans you hear about… She even hit a pheasant on her first hunt!  I also helped Jeff get two birds!

I want to thank Mother for giving me a ride to my hunting  fundraiser for the Knockouts! I also want to thank Kim for being such an enthusiastic  pupil!

Now I think I know why Abby is such a funny kid!

I’m looking forward to going out on another teaching outing with the people who won bidding at the show on Sunday!  For now, I think I’ll rest up… or maybe not.

Where’s Mother???????
