School Horse Vacation Day!

Hi everyone…Sundance here again!!

We who are currently enjoying all the grass we can eat and all the sun we can enjoy wish you all a Happy Easter and spring break.  It’s a vacation day for us, and we’re taking full advantage of the day with lots of games and naps.

The fancy box stall horses are also enjoying a vacation day with lots of napping and talking amongst themselves with no humans around most of the day!

Speaking of vacations, I have a great story to share…

Name game at camp!

Name game at camp...This came after the 'Know your horse' game!

Several summers ago, a group of campers were sitting around the picnic tables at lunch, and decided to play a little game of “Know Your Horse”.  Ann provided them with a category, and the riders had to answer for each of the lesson horses.  (Dozer and Skeet were added to this illustrious group because they enjoy many fans as well!)

Recital Recap

Hello Everyone!

Sundance Here!

We all had our recap meeting at the round bale Monday morning after the recital.  I thought the boys performed quite well in their numbers over the weekend. Zeus outdid himself a little bit, failing to take the warm temperatures in to account, but he’s feeling fine even though he is a little disappointed that he didn’t get to be in the final numbers.

For those of you who are wondering whether Forest lost his IPad priviledges…

Yes he did.

He made it through pleasure and equitation classes on Saturday, but then he felt like Kelly was getting all the attention in he pattern class.  When she asked him for two lead changes on a diagonal line, he politely gave her the first one, and then dragged her to the right at a furious little trot that only a Norwegian Fjord could do.

Sundance Invites You to the Spring School Horse Recital

Hi Everyone!

Thanks to Rachel for my executive portrait.

Sundance Here!

I would like to personally invite all of you the the Spring School Horse Recital, to be held in the arena at Knollwood Farm on March 17 and 18.   It has come to my attention that you humans call it a horse show, but to me, the master of the pasture, it’s time for the lesson horses to show off their abilities in teaching you and your children how to ride.

Here I am in my office giving Forest some coaching on his behavior at the recital

My herd  of employees will start their performances on Saturday  in pleasure classes, where they try really hard to behave, as these are held early in the day.  As the performance progresses through equitation, pairs, bareback, and pattern classes, you may see displays of the unique personalities on the part of the boys.
